I am new to teaching physics
These pages are for secondary science teachers who are trainees, newly qualified teachers (NQTs), early career or even established but new to teaching physics.
The Institute wants to ensure you're confident in the classroom with the physics you are teaching, whether you are a physics specialist or are finding your way around physics for the first time in a few years.
We can help you get started teaching physics by offering:
- Teaching materials including ways to get your class started
- Advice on finding your NQT position
- You’re not alone – follow our bloggers
- Newly qualified teacher support
- Support for established teachers who are new to teaching physics
Trainee teachers in UK and Ireland are eligible to sign up for our free Student Teacher Affiliation Scheme. You'll get free teaching materials and resources, a regular e-newsletter and information from the Institute about our other forms of support.
